There couldn’t be a more fitting day to post these photos than today, August 16, 2020, Russian Air Fleet Day. The reason? A mix of delayed wedding deliveries, an interesting experience, and a powerful shot of nostalgia all in one.
Yes, my time at KnAAZ was mostly nominal — I 'worked' there part-time for about a year as a student. Later, I worked twice at SCAC (Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company), first for only a week and the second time for a bit longer — about four years. My degree is in aircraft and helicopter engineering (or something like that, according to my diploma). And this year, I had the chance to photograph 50 portraits for KnAAZ’s honors board. It feels like the circle has come full.
As for the work itself? A few times, I genuinely felt like I was going to work—from 9 to 5 with a lunch break. It was a unique feeling to be at the plant but not actually working there. Overall, there were quite a few organizational details, but they had all been communicated in advance, so it was fair. Definitely a different type of client altogether. But the most important thing is that the client is pleased with the results.
Happy holiday to everyone involved!
